Torch - Pass The Flame app for iPhone and iPad

Take part in the spirit of athletic competitions by connecting with athletes and carrying their flames! Torch connects fans with athletes and shows the path each connection took to get to you.

Torch passes a virtual flame from athletes to fans and then amongst fans. Each user (fans and athletes) carries their collected flames in their Torch and can then share their flames with other users. Check out our video that illustrates how it works here: https://youtu.be/JgIdosGxzx0

Collect flames for your favorites and discover new athletes with Torch!

HOW IT WORKS:
- Athletes are given a virtual flame that represents them and their dedication to their sport.
- Fans search for nearby Torches with which they can share flames. These may be available directly from the athlete or from another fan who already received the flame.
- Flame sharing is initiated/requested by one user and approved by the other. Flames then pass from one Torch to the other. Each user gets new flames in their Torch.
- After flames are shared, fans see the path each flame took from fan to fan to get to them. This is illustrated in their Degree of Separation from that athlete.
- … and a map shows how the athlete’s flame has spread since it started!

- Discover athletes, and even sports, that are unfamiliar to you.
- See the path a flame to took from the athlete to your Torch.
- Learn interesting facts about the athletes in your Torch.
- If your favorite athlete has set up a funding page, you can donate to your favorite athlete to help with expenses for training and competitions. (App links to third-party funding pages set up by athletes. Donations are not required nor tracked. Feature is only available if the athlete has set it up.)
- See where you rank with other fans and among your Facebook friends!

- Build and increase your fan base.
- Get exposure to potential fans around the world.
- Provide information to Torchbearers through your profile page, which can be updated as frequently as you want.
- See how your flame has spread around the world.
- If you have a funding website (e.g., Rallyme, DreamFuel, SportFunder), receive increased traffic to that webpage to help with expenses for training and competitions.
- Be a fan yourself and interact with fellow athletes!
